As San Luis Obispo High School students start preparing for the end of the 2023-24 school year, spring sports are concluding.  Here is what might be the last update of the season.

Track and Field

Track and Field did excellent at their League Meet last Thursday, May 2. They’re on their way to CIF today at Sanger! They have five throwers competing, while a lot of our runners. It looks very hopeful! San Luis Obispo High School has a great Track and Field program. -senior Téa Fischer

Swim and Dive

SLOHS Boys Swim got second place in the CIF Championships, coming just behind Clovis North, which is fifth in the state. SLOHS Girls got fifth place in CIF, out of 25 teams. CIF Championships are going on right now until the 11th and SLO is currently in 35th for Girls and 18th for Boys. -freshman Bee Balicki

Girls Beach Volleyball

After a terrific season, Girls Beach Volleyball fell to AGHS in their CIF playoffs.  They look forward to some actual courts instead of portables next year in front of the gym.

Boys Volleyball

Boys Varsity Volleyball had an amazing week, they battled hard until the end. Varsity Volleyball had a game on Tuesday against Fresno Christian and won 3-2. Varsity also had a game this Friday for CIF Championships and came up short 3-2 against Arroyo Grande as that makes a rap for their season. San Luis Obispo High school ended 48th in California. Great work to all the Boys Volleyball players for your hard work and dedication throughout the season. -freshman Sarah Kelley

Boys Golf

Golf players are working their butts off, training hard, and working on their game trying to get it up to par for CIF which is next week. CIF is in Dinuba on May 13, so wish them luck! JV is training too, trying their hardest to get their game up for a spot on Varsity for next year. -freshman Miles Blackwell

Baseball

On Wednesday, Baseball had their senior night but ultimately fell to Cabrillo 6-0. They were able to bounce back the next day, beating Morro Bay 6-3 in extra innings. Senior Chance Evans threw 11 strikeouts in five scoreless innings of relief. This brings the Tigers’ record to 9-18. Their final game will be against Cabrillo on Friday. – freshman Santiago Baltodano

Softball

On Thursday our San Luis Obispo Varsity Softball played their last league game against the Nipomo Titans which resulted in a loss of 12-4 which put our Tigers at third in league. This was their last league game before CIF which starts on Wednesday. In other news, our JV Softball Girls won their first game against the Morro Bay Pirates and played their last game against Pioneer Valley. -sophomore Luca Petterson

Stunt

Last week the team competed in CIF Playoffs on Friday and Saturday, doing very well and placing second. Today and tomorrow they are at CIF State Playoffs at Clovis North High School. -sophomore Vyolet Burrus

Boys Tennis

Last Friday the boys crushed their CIF Area Tournament and after training all week, today they’re continuing their CIF matches here at SLOHS right now! If these matches go well then the team will proceed to the state tournament next week. Be sure to cheer these stellar Tigers on! -sophomore Vyolet Burrus
