Last week, 2027 SLOHS varsity football players took time out of their weight room routine to go down to Holt field to help the dance team shoot a video for a commercial.  Digital Media brought cameras and drones.

Dance teacher Mandie Mettler,  Digital Media teacher Zack Roper, and football coaching legend Pat Johnston worked to create this opportunity for over one hundered SLOHS students.

 “Incorporating football players into our dance was easy, because the choreography involved dance moves that they already knew and they were very cooperative and great to work with,” said SLOHS dance team member Ruby ancheta – johnson.

This shows that if you are cooperative and willing to listen to the people who know what they are doing, you can show the rest of the school what you have created. 

“It’s important to me to film the dance team because most of those dancers have had little exposure on any kind of ‘professional’ set. SLOHS doesn’t have a professional set (such as the actual set used in the ‘Better In Denim’ commercial), but having experience on a semi-professional set such as ours will serve to help the dancers and myself with the workflow and energy output of work,” said Digital Media intern and senior Eithan Diesta.
