As the summer season begins, many San Luis Obispo students who are out of school are looking forward to fun activities during their break. Here in Paso Robles, The Ravine Water Park is a popular spot that draws visitors from all over the county to enjoy its thrilling slides, relaxing pools, and exciting water attractions. But with all the attention it gets, some people wonder if The Ravine Water Park is really worth the hype.
“The Ravine Water Park can get very nasty sometimes because it is hard for them to keep it clean,” said junior Jordan Hamilton.
The water park struggles to stay consistently clean because bacteria and the large number of visitors can cause buildups that may make people sick.
“I like the toilet bowl water slide because it wakes me up,” said sophomore Anika Zachmerya.
Many of the slides at The Ravine Water Park are exhilarating and full of thrills. The park offers a wide variety of attractions, from chill, laid-back slides to high-energy rides, so it has something for everyone looking to cool off from the heat.
“The water park is cool because the water is really wet and like it’s fun to splash people and go on the slides and do flips into the water,” said junior Taya Corpuz-Carr.
Even with some concerns about cleanliness on busy days, many students say the positives still stand out. The Ravine has a strong lifeguard crew, plenty of places to grab food and drinks, and shaded spots where people can cool down between rides, all with music playing throughout the park.
Overall, the Ravine Water Park remains a favorite place for San Luis Obispo County students to spend hot days. It offers something for everyone, from intense slides like the toilet bowl to calmer areas like the lazy river. For students looking for a fun way to escape the heat, spend time with friends, and make summer memories, The Ravine Water Park is definitely a place worth visiting.
