Sports Update: Spring Athletes are Dominating the Competition

  San Luis Obispo student athletes have been crushing it recently. From games to gigantic meets, SLOHS’ teams are everywhere. Here’s how they did:

 

Swim and Dive

Swim and Dive had a meet on Wednesday April 17, again at Arroyo Grande. The boys team won 185- 119, this puts swim and dive with a 4-1 record. The girls team won 186-120. The next meet is April 24, which is the CCAA Mountain League Championship. The Varsity meet is April, 23 to 25, and the JV meet is April, 24.  Those are the final two meets of the season for both teams. –  freshman Bee Balicki

 

Track and Field

Track and Field had a meet Wednesday April 17 in Paso Robles. The Girls Varsity absolutely dominated with scoring 116.5-19.5, and JV Girls scored a total of 73,-48. Boys Varsity scored 89-30, and JV 85-46. They go to Arroyo Grande this Saturday April 20 to compete for Elks San Luis Obispo County Track Meet. – senior Téa Fischer

 

Girls Beach Volleyball

Girls Beach Volleyball fell to Mission College Prep yesterday April 17 with a score of 1-2. They have a score of 9-3 overall and are ranked first in league. There next game is Friday, April 19 seven p.m. at MCP. Come out and support Tigers! – junior Phoebe Drazsnzak

 

Boys Volleyball

Boys Volleyball played in a tournament last Saturday and won all three of their matches. Volleyball also had a game against St. Joe’s on Tuesday and lost 3-1. There is a game on Tuesday so go out and support your Boys Varsity Volleyball. Varsity is now 17-6 overall and 4-2 in league, they are second in league behind St. Joe’s. wish them luck as they start coming to the end of the season. – freshman Sarah Kelly

 

Baseball

Varsity Baseball faced off against Arroyo Grande last Wednesday, and ultimately lost 2-8 despite tallying seven total hits. With a 5-15 record, the Tigers rematch Arroyo Grande on Friday as they finish off the rest of their league games for the season. – freshman Santiago Baltodano

 

Softball

Our San Luis Obispo Varsity Softball team had an amazing win against the Santa Ynez pirates with a final score of 19-0, bringing them to a 6-2 record in league. In other news, the JV Girls got their first win against the Morro Bay Pirates! – sophomore Luca Petterson

 

Stunt

Stunt had a game Wednesday April 17, they played St. Joes and won with a score of 15-14. They then went head to head against Arroyo Grande and unfortunately lost. Stunt has a game next Wednesday, April 24 in Morro Bay. Come support the stunt team at their next game before they’re off to compete in CIF’s! – sophomore Ruby Blackburn

 

Boys Golf

Boys Golf is going strong still in the lead for league. They haven’t had any tournaments for little while, but are prepping for a big match this coming week; the league finals. Good luck, Tigers! – freshman Miles Blackwell

 

Boys Tennis 

Boys Tennis is currently 13-4 and doing very well. This week the team battled it out on the courts for their league preliminary tournaments on Wednesday and the league finals on Thursday, winning first in both singles and doubles. Going into next week, the team will start their CIF games on Tuesday, April 23. – sophomore Vyolet Burrus
