San Luis Obispo High School has a very competitive, hard-working stunt team. It’s impressive how they put themselves out there to face the challenges and build a strong bonding trust with their teammates.
However, Stunt relies very heavily on the people competing in it. If teammates cannot be completely trusted, the team won’t be able to proceed with new stunts.
“Stunts are very physically challenging because you have to look out for your own safety, but also the safety of others. When one skill goes wrong, a chain reaction often occurs,” said sophomore Kali Lynch.
With competing and winning most of their games, they became undefeatable. They learn new things each day with hard work, new skills, and by achieving their goals individually.
“The hardest skill I’ve learned is backhand springs to whip up full because it took me a year to learn how to connect a whip to tucks and then another year to learn my full,” said freshman Piper Davis.
Stunt is a busy sport. It could take up almost the whole day; it’s not as easy as people make it seem. There has to be true commitment, dedication, and showing that you truly wanna be there by working hard.
“Stunt can be exhausting because this is a sport where you have to be aware 24/7, and you have to keep everyone safe while continuing to keep your stunt up. I am also very committed, and doing that with school can be a lot, trying to keep up with assignments,” said sophomore Jillian Davis.
Stunt is a very trust-heavy sport; strong bonds and trust are needed for a full performance to be perfected and well presented. Each role that a person has on the team is important, and with trust, our Tigers Sunt team is unstoppable.
