At San Luis Obispo High School, many seniors go on a trip after graduation. Whether it is to a different country or in California, it is a great opportunity for seniors to have something to look forward to and get them through the end of the year. We are in the last 50 days till graduation, and senioritis is hitting hard.
“I’m so excited for my trip this summer to Spain and Portugal, it’s getting me through the end of the school year,” said senior Sofia Waggoner.
Having something like going on a trip with friends can improve students’ dedication in the final trimester at SLOHS. As they have an improved mood in daily life, it can reflect in their schoolwork.
“I feel like senior trips are a waste of money, and it ends up being too stressful,” said senior Finn Retsek.
Although there are many benefits for some SLOHS students, there is an opposite effect. Trying to find friends to go with and planning large trips could add stress to one’s life. Along with safety issues and financial stresses, depending on where one travels.
“I see how people could get stressed out, but in the end it was so worth it, and the memories will last,” said 2024 SLOHS graduate Janey Rubio.
Overall, going on a senior trip is a good idea. It will improve students’ mood and enrich one’s lives. Have fun traveling this summer, Tigers!
