SLOHS Students Are Loving “Shameless”

SLOHS+Students+Are+Loving+Shameless

Without doubt there has been an eruption of obsession at San Luis Obispo High School. The topic that has been popularly sweeping the halls has been a television series called “Shameless”.

“Shameless”, having come out in 2011, has gained popularity this year because of one’s ability to stream episodes on Netflix. The show’s premise revolves around a dysfunctional family called the Gallaghers living in the ghetto of Chicago. With their father, an alcoholic, and their mother bipolar, one can watch the oldest sister of this family of six struggle to make ends meet.

“I like that the scenarios are things that can happen in real life. Something super exciting happens in every episode, and all the characters are developed really well,” said sophomore Emma Manderino.

After just one episode it’s hard not to get attached to each character and want to watch the show forever. Watching the characters grow and deal with unique, real problems is what makes “Shameless” so enchanting.

“Students at SLOHS really enjoy ‘Shameless’ because it sheds a light on real issues that affect students while still being funny,” said sophomore Cassidy Clark.

For some students, it makes their at home situation feel a little bit more normal, and others can relate to the Gallaghers. Either way, “Shameless” is an entertaining show we can all learn something from.
