As spring unfolds, students at San Luis Obispo High School are eagerly anticipating a lineup of exciting game releases. Many of these titles have been on student wishlists or pre-ordered for months, making this season particularly thrilling for gamers within the school community.
During March, EA (Electronic Arts) is releasing two notable games, both of which have huge fan bases. Kicking off the month, “WWE 2K26” will launch on March 13, available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Gamers can look forward to stepping into the ring with their favorite superstars and experiencing the thrill of professional wrestling like never before. Just a few days later, on March 17, the excitement will continue with the release of “MLB The Show 26”, also available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Baseball fans can immerse themselves in the ultimate baseball simulation.
For those who have ever dreamed of running and managing their own soccer team, mark your calendars for March 26! “Copa City” will hit the shelves, allowing players to design their teams and navigate the challenges of soccer management—all on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
“I’m looking forward to new updates, and I really hope the online experience is less laggy than it has been. It’d be great if they could fix the servers, provide regular updates, and improve my island as well. While I think the prices are quite high, I expect good gameplay and quality updates, and I’m committed to staying engaged with the community. I’m really hoping to see some wrestlers that have recently returned, like AJ Lee and Brock Lesnar, make it into the game. That would be pretty exciting,” said senior Juan Carlos Martinon.
During April, for those who enjoy single-player games with immersive narratives, “Pragmata” is set to deliver an unforgettable experience. Coming from Capcom, the ingenious creators behind the iconic Resident Evil series, this title promises to combine stunning visuals with a captivating storyline. Players can expect to embark on a journey filled with rich characters and thought-provoking themes, immersing themselves in a world that pushes the boundaries of storytelling in gaming.
Get ready for an adventure that not only entertains but also resonates on a deeper level, releasing April 24! Blizzard Entertainment is set to elevate the world of Sanctuary with the highly anticipated expansion pack for “Diablo IV, titled Lord of Hatred,” launching on April 28. Gamers on all platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, can prepare for an epic journey into the depths of darkness like never before. “Lord of Hatred” promises to deliver a thrilling new chapter in the Diablo saga, introducing fresh challenges, formidable foes, and a gripping narrative that delves into the heart of malevolence.
Players can expect to encounter new realms teeming with sinister lore and perilous quests as they navigate through the twisted machinations of hatred itself.
“I have high hopes for the next expansion, The Lord of Hatred. I’ll play the Paladin and Warlock classes to death, and even play through the new quests with my other mains,” said Videogamer.com writer Sam Smith,
As May, the last month of spring, arrives, gamers are gearing up for two highly anticipated releases: “LEGO Batman: The Legacy of the Dark Knight” and “Forza Horizon 6”. LEGO Batman offers a fun adventure in Gotham City. Players can explore the world of the Dark Knight, use their creativity to solve puzzles, and take part in exciting action scenes.
On the other hand, “Forza Horizon 6” is set to elevate the racing genre with its stunning visuals and expansive open world. Players can look forward to an exhilarating driving experience, exploring new environments and competing in thrilling races, all while enjoying a dynamic weather system and a variety of vehicles to choose from. May will be an exciting month for gamers with two great titles for adventure and racing fans!
“What I’ve seen of it, it’s absolutely just incredible graphics, the cars. They’re trying to push the boundaries of that genre. A car company I may see myself using is probably BMW. I could go crazy drifting in some BMWs. I think that the maps are really cool, really impressive, just the absolute size of the map and all the little details that they added. Since the developer is really well known for releasing polished games as they should be released, I don’t expect many major bugs. I mean, it’s gonna be a new game, and, as always, most live services are gonna have some issues,” said sophomore Michael Silvestri.
As spring blossoms, the gaming world is buzzing with excitement as a fresh lineup of highly anticipated releases arrives. We can see how students at SLOHS are waiting to be able to play and enjoy these wonderful games. This year will drop a lot more games.
