Expressions interviewed her to see how she felt about her four years here.
Expressions: What activities did you do inside and outside of school?
2022 SLOHS graduate Kea Gildersleeve: I used to be a three sport athlete. Senior year, I just did cross country, I’ve done lots of sports in school. I’ve done different clubs and my most prominent club was FFA [Future Farmers of America].
Expressions: Who was your least favorite teacher at such a high school and why?
Gildersleeve: I would have to say my Spanish teacher, she made me cry during class.
Expressions: What is the worst thing that happened to you during SLOHS?
Gildersleeve: I’d say . . . this might be controversial. I’d say, toxic people.
Expressions: If you were principal for the day what would you change about SLOHS?
Gildersleeve: Honestly, I think Principal Rollin Dickinson was doing an awesome job. I think he’s was a pretty solid principal. I don’t have many complaints.
Expressions: Would you say SLOHS was inclusive?
Gildersleeve: I would say it was pretty inclusive. For the most part.
Expressions: Is there anything you just absolutely hated about SLOHS?
Gildersleeve: I hated waking up early. I felt like I got no sleep because of the homework overload. I just felt very sleep-deprived all the time.
