“American Horror Story” (AHS) season six was one of the most anticipated releases of the year. AHS, a horror series showed on FX Network every Wednesday night, is unlike any other show on television or even the internet. Every season changes the theme but keeps most of the same cast. Starting with season one, the themes are “Murder House”, “Asylum”, “Coven”, “Freak Show”, “Hotel”, and the newest, “My Roanoke Nightmare”. What makes this season so different from the others is the format of every episode. The teasers leading up to this season were the most confusing out of all the past ones. Images and clips were put together to create mystifying messages about the theme.
“This season is not at all what I thought it was going to be,” said sophomore Kara Hoover. From what we’ve seen so far, the story is told from the perspective of a couple who lived the events and then is reenacted by other actors. Much like the rest of AHS, this season is inspired by true events. In the late 1500s, 117 settlers came to Roanoke Island in North Carolina, where the story takes place. Three years after they settled, not a trace of them was found, dead or alive. The story shows the angry ghosts of these people coming after a couple recently moved into the area.
“After waiting months for the big reveal, I am definitely going to keep watching to see where the story goes,” said Hoover.
If you want to start watching “American Horror Story”, now is a better time than ever.
