Netflix Suggestions: Movies and TV Shows About School

Netflix+Suggestions%3A+Movies+and+TV+Shows+About+School

As the school year comes to a close, many of us will have some new found free time on our hands to relax in bed and partake in all of the Netflix we’ve missed out on while dealing with AP classes and sports. If for some reason you’re missing school and wishing to reminisce, here are ten movies and television shows about school on Netflix.

“Just Friends”

This movie is for anyone who might want to open up to that one friend who you’ve always had feelings for. It could inspire you to do so or completely terrify you into continuing your silence.

“Freaks & Geeks- 18 Episodes”

Based in the 1970s, a group of friends go through the motions of high school and deal with typical things like embarrassing younger siblings, failing tests, throwing parties and grieving the death of Led Zeppelin’s drummer John Bonham.

“Grease”

Classic, beautiful, musical. Also, young John Travolta. *insert praise hands emoji*

“Blue Mountain State”- three seasons

If you’re graduating and going on to play sports in college, watch this as a hilarious cautionary tale.

“Clueless”

Watch for clothing inspiration.

“Seventeen Again”

This throwback Disney Channel original movie is about three kids’ grandparents being turned 17 years old again (hence the title). They attend prom; it’s adorable.

“Skins”- seven seasons

A bit of an over exaggerated depiction of what high school is like, but extremely fun to watch nonetheless. Watch this if you want to feel like you’re totally not living up to your party potential.

“Bring It On”

Cheer movie is subject to include Kristen Dunst looking awesome, tons of quotable sass, and more early 2000’s fashion inspiration.

“American Beauty”

Senior Kelly Doherty wanted this movie on the list. It’s technically partially based in high school but has little to nothing to do with it, mostly it has to do with trying to sleep with your friend’s father.
