Cookies are a staple favorite for people all around the world, including those at San Luis Obispo High School. However, many people find that cookie dough is even more delicious than its baked counterpart. Unfortunately, eating raw eggs and flour can be dangerous and pose concerns for e coli and salmonella poisoning, rendering raw cookie dough inedible for many.

But no worries, there is a way to work around this.

Here’s a safe, egg-free chocolate chip cookie dough recipe for when you’re craving something sweet!

  Ingredients:

  • 2 Sticks unsalted butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • Chocolate chips

  Steps:

  1. Spread flour into a thin layer on a baking sheet, and bake for 10 minutes at 300° or until a it reaches a temperature of 160°
  2. Put softened butter into a large bowl and add both granulated and brown sugar. Mix until completely combined, and then add vanilla extract. Mix again.
  3. Combine salt and flour into a bowl and then add to butter/sugar mixture ¼ cup at a time, mixing between pours.
  4. Add chocolate chips and enjoy
