As the first few episodes of “Love Island” USA season eight begin to release, San Luis Obispo High School students are getting comfy in their beds with the timeless summer hours that many of them have no plans to fill.
“Love Island” is a reality TV show where young single individuals enter a villa in order to find love. With each new season, viewers tune in not only for romance but also for the personalities of those who are in the villa.
“I’m really excited for season eight as it is one of my favorite shows to watch during the summer and I’m hoping this year will be just as good as the last two,” said sophomore Piper Davis.
Although the show is mainly for love, the drama that comes along with it is the reason for the amount of viewers that watch it. Within every season, there is a drama queen that many either love or hate.
“I hope there is a person like Huda this season. Huda really made me engaged with the show last year, and the tiktok edits were super funny. If there are multiple people like Huda in season 8, I think it will be the best season yet,” said junior Jasmine Jenny.
Students and fans are also excited to see the new challenges and relationships that will form throughout this season. However, many of these students and fans want events and challenges to return.
“I hope Casa Amor and movie night come back this season. I feel like that’s where all the drama is stirred up and it’s lowkey the best part of the show,” said junior Jordan Hamilton.
“Love Island USA” continues to be one of the most talked about shows during the summer. Whether people watch it for romance, drama, or entertaining events, many of them are hopeful that this season will top last year’s and bring back the excitement that it brings during each summer. So, Tigers, if you’re bored at home with nothing to do, go start season eight of “Love Island USA.”
