The San Luis Obispo High School boy’s soccer team played their last league game last Friday, September 12 against Arroyo Grande, losing 1-0.
“I think one of the challenges we faced was the field is pretty small. It’s also always hard playing a rival, it’s a lot of pressure and expectations, especially when there is a lot on the line,” said senior varsity soccer player Sam O’Sullivan.
The game was also senior night for graduating players, making the game extra special.
“It was pretty cool. I remember last year’s seniors playing and thinking ‘Wow, that’s going to be me in a year’. And it happened to me and all my friends, so that was pretty cool,” said O’Sullivan.
Now that league is over, the team is preparing to compete in CIF and plans to take home a win.
“We’re focusing on being ourselves as a team and playing how we want to play because I think that’s how we play best. And if we get away from our roots and how we’re supposed to play then we don’t play as well,” said O’Sullivan.
Good luck to the boy’s soccer team with their away CIF game tonight!
