This summer, Tiger Youth Sports Camps take place at Laguna Middle School. Tiger Youth Sports Camps are for boys and girls between the ages of four and 13. During these camps, young children can enjoy playing all sports such as soccer, volleyball, track, flag football, basketball, and many more.
Tiger Youth Sports Camps are the best way to become involved with other children in the community while doing some of the activities one enjoys. Certain San Luis Obispo High School students can also become a counselor to help out with running the camps.
“This year will be year seven of running the camps. I run the camp with the help from [girls basketball head coach] Daniel Monroe and [previous girls volleyball head coach] Marci Beddall. There will be over one thousand kids there over the ten weeks. It is not stressful, but rewarding to get to work with so many youngsters,” said athletic director Jeff Brandow.
Compared to many other camps in the community, Tiger Youth Sports Camps is a more negotiable price. Weekly, for a half-day at Laguna Middle School, it costs one hundred fifteen dollars, while a full day cost one hundred seventeen dollars. Every camper will receive a San Luis Obispo t-shirt, as well as learning teamwork, self-confidence, and how to play multiple sports. In addition, all of the proceeds will benefit the needs of San Luis Obispo High School Athletics.
All of the young children who participate in these camps agree that is one of the most fun activities they do all summer. This time is to make new friends and learn more skills that they will need later in life. Sign up to volunteer this summer at the Tiger Youth Sports Camp.
