Levi’s Stadium temporarily increased its seating capacity to around 70,000 people for the Super Bowl. And no, the 49er’s are not playing. Sorry Coach Johnston. Photo courtesy of Levi’s Stadium.
Super Bowl LX (sixty)happens this Sunday, February 8, at Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers. Yet, students at San Luis Obispo High School are more divided than ever. They wait in anticipation to see if the Seattle Seahawks or the New England Patriots will come out on top.
While many students are just excited to see rapper and singer, Bad Bunny’s halftime performance, several students have been putting in predictions on who they believe is best positioned to win the Super Bowl.
“I think it will be the Seattle Seahawks [who will win the Super Bowl] because they have the best defense in the league,” said senior Tanyon Kubinski.
While students are showing their clear support for the Seattle Seahawks, SLOHS is divided as ever, with the New England Patriots track record winning over a lot of favor.
“I’d say the New England Patriots [will win the Super Bowl], because they have a winning record, and they’re my favorite team,” said senior Gavin Mussallem.
Prior to the divisional round, math teacher Jimmy Johnson gave some input on how he’d believe the playoffs would turn out.
“This season is tough to call without a clear favorite. The number one seeds don’t exactly have QBs with playoff experience and success. The public seems to love the Bills, but Josh Allen can only do so much before his body breaks down. The Rams have a proven leader in Stafford, but they can give up points in bunches. I’m going to have to say Seattle will take home the title,” said math teacher Jimmie Johnson.
It seems most people who walk the halls at SLOHS have faith in the Seattle Seahawks, but what has brought the Seahawks this far in the playoffs?
“It is do or die in the playoffs. I really think Seattle knows this year is special for them and they need to capitalize on this window, as you never know how things will go next year,” said Johnson.
Tune into Super Bowl LX this Sunday to find out if it will it be the Seattle Seahawks or the New England Patriots that will take home another trophy.
