Students and staff alike at San Luis Obispo High School indulge in protein bars. Not everyone enjoys protein bars, but they are fairly common, especially amongst busy people that want a snack on the go.

Though protein bars all serve the same purpose, having a high proportion of protein to carbohydrates and fats, there are many different brands and flavors. Each protein bar has a different taste, texture, and look, and, to put it simply, some are definitely better than others.

“I have been eating Power Crunch bars since elementary school. They have really helped me with my protein consumption, especially since I have difficulties eating meat and other proteins,” said junior Kyle Platte.

The best protein bar, no matter the flavor, comes from the brand Power Crunch. Each Power Crunch bar has 220 calories, 12 grams of carbohydrates, 13 grams of fat, and 13 grams of protein.

One of the most popular flavors of Power Crunch protein bars is the triple chocolate flavor. The authentic chocolatey taste, along with the wafer-like texture of the bar is definitely delectable.

“Sometimes you forget it’s so healthy, it’s like a fun desert,” said Platte.

There are a couple of different good protein bar brands, such as Quest, Kind Protein, or Dr. Jen’s, however, Power Crunch always reigns superior.

If you’re looking for a new protein bar to try, pick up a Power Crunch bar, Tigers!
