San Luis Obispo High School students are preparing to enjoy downtown’s 45th annual Holiday Parade, happening tonight from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The theme of this year’s parade is California Dreamin’. SLOHS students are free to enjoy the parade at no cost with friends and family!

Some SLOHS groups will be involved such as: SLOHS’s Future Farmers of America (FFA), Associated Student Body (ASB), and marching band.

“Students should go to the Holiday Parade downtown Friday night! there’s going to be FFA members, ASB, and the SLOHS band! We all worked really hard, so it would be great if you came out and supported us!” said sophomore Mox Burnham.

The parade route starts on Chorro and Palm, and comes to a close on Nipomo and Monterey.

“People are going to wear Santa hats and reindeer ears and FFA clothes and we’re going to string Christmas lights,” said senior and FFA member Sienna Boscaro.

The holiday parade has been held annually for the last 45 years excluding 2020 due to COVID-19.

Every year SLO residents descend on downtown to watch the brightly lit floats. This year’s parade will feature more than eighty decorative floats, vehicles, marching bands, dancers including SLOHS FFA club’s float which won the Most Spirited Award in the 2019 parade.

Come see SLOHS students get into the holiday spirit!
