Whose this inescapable glass – faced man we keep hearing about in the media?

American singer, multi – instrumentalist, songwriter and producer -Jack Antonoff was certainly hard to avoid amongst San Luis Obispo High School students this summer whenever one would find themselves turning on the radio or shuffling their playlist.

Antonoff, a go-to collaborator in the music industry for numerous artists truly hit his mark this year, as his post “COVID – 19 boom” in the entertainment business tremendously hit an all time high.

“Jack Antonoff is an incredibly talented producer working with equally incredible women. This is especially evident on the track ‘Joanie’ off of Clairo’s album ‘Sling’ which showcases Antonoff’s amazing production skills” said senior Arts and Entertainment editor Sofia Shaw.

From singer – songwriter Taylor Swift’s snug and homely project ‘Folklore’ that changed the game for what we refer to as pop music, to pop artist St. Vincent’s exuberantantly based 1970s yet deeply personal record ‘Daddy’s Home’. The one guy who once hit us with the groundbreaking, unquestionably catchy track ‘We Are Young’ released all the way back in the year of 2012, to the heart – wrenching and woodsy Elliot Smith influenced album ‘Sling’ by Clairo – Antonoff has basically became this metaphorical mother to what we know as music production.

“I think it’s really cool that a lot of female artists feel immensely comfortable with not only Antonoff’s production in their work but also his overall presence in the studio. Particularly with Taylor Swift, as the media is well – aware of her destructive and abusive past – relationships with her producers prior to her album 1989 which was released in 2014,” said editor of the People and Culture Editor Fiona Stevens.

One of Jack Antonoff’s up and coming projects, ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’, with returning artist from Antonoff’s ring of pop sensations, Taylor Swift, is set to hit billboards November 19th of this year. This project is part of her “unlocking the vault” series where Swift has been setting off to master and re – verb her past solo albums with, you guessed it, Jack Antonoff.

Furthermore, one has to remember Jack Antonoff was frankly not the guy the media has trademarked him out to be until just a few years ago, as he spent years bouncing from underground indie projects to Grammy winning pop tracks that will continually stay looping through our heads. Honestly, you may have never heard of the Jersey based name Jack Antonoff, but if you are not living under a rock, you most certainly have heard his music.
