Senior reporter Riley Wilkerson documented the gun violence assembly that took place at San Luis Obispo High School on May 27. Hundreds of students observed speeches done by students and staff while also mourning the lives lost in the Uvalde school shooting.  

Senior Sofi Shaw passionately addresses the crowd, describing the horrific events that took place during the school shooting that took 19 lives. 

Students of all grades stayed on campus in support for changing gun laws in the United States and to stand in solidarity with the victims of the mass shootings that have happened. 

Senior ASB Vice President honors each of the lives lost during the Uvalde shooting. Bye also instructs the audience on how they can enact change in our government to tighten gun control. 

Students write letters to California Representatives Salud Carbajal, Diana Feinstein, and Alex Padilla to urge them to create more gun control legislation.
