From math to English, students are making changes to their lives. Graphic courtesy of freshman Miles Blackwell.

Here at San Luis Obispo High School, the trimester has just ended. This raises the question of how students are adjusting to their new classes.

Unlike many other high schools in San Luis Obispo County, SLOHS is on the trimester system, which means more class changes. To learn more about how this affects students, Expressions decided to interview a few students on how their new classes are going.

Expressions: What classes did you have last trimester?

Sophomore Alex Corbo: I had an okay schedule last trimester: Spanish, History, Math, Computer Science, and Soccer.

Freshman Porter Hales: Last trimester I had a really fun schedule: Math, honors English, TNN, Newspaper (the GOAT), and Welding.

Expressions: What classes are you taking right now?

Corbo: History Seminar, Computer Science Seminar, English, Spanish, and Chemistry.

Hales: So right now, I’m in Ag Bio, Algebra 1, Honors English, Spanish 2, and golf.

Expressions: In general, are your classes this trimester harder than last?

Corbo: I gotta say last trimester.

Hales: They were so easy last trimester.

Expressions: How do you feel about your new teachers?

Corbo: They’re pretty good I’d say.

Hales: I love my new teachers, their classes are so fun.

Expressions: What is your favorite class you have ever taken at SLOHS?

Corbo: I gotta go with math.

Hales: Definitely Spanish with Mrs. Eddie.

As SLOHS transitions from the old trimester to the new trimester, Expressions wishes everyone good luck in their new classes. Go get ‘em Tigers!
