The week has only just begun, and the annual Homecoming festivities have started with a bang. Today the winners of the Homecoming Princesses and Princes for each class were announced, as well as the eight students nominated for senior Homecoming Queen and King.
A major change to the election process took place this year. ASB had clubs and sports teams nominate people from each grade rather than the traditional way of second period students nominating the court.
The winners are as follows: freshmen Moises Hernandez Galindo and Estephanie Gonzalez, sophomores Kevin Jess and Stella Boller, and juniors Colin Erno and Roxanna Aviles.
“I feel honored because I have never been nominated for anything in my life and it feels good to know all my friends support me and care about me,” said Aviles.
As for the seniors, we will have to wait until Friday’s Homecoming game to find out who San Luis Obispo High School’s student body crown Queen and King. The senior nominees are Max Calandro, Callum Bolger, Brendan Avila, Jibreel Abdul-Cader, Tyra Popovich, Lorin Tapp, Kalena Cirone, and Shaina Morris.
According to Avila, “the senior nominees have been requested to wear their sash all week for five extra votes for each day they dress up.”
