Just because there’s only six weeks of school left and senioritis feels stronger than ever, doesn’t mean it’s okay for San Luis Obispo High students to be late to class, especially after lunch!
Here are three lunch options that will bring students with cars back to SLOHS on time!
“I really like [Touch by Angel’s] matcha latte and mango bingsu. I really like that the place is clean and quiet,” said senior Ashlyn Trahan.
Starting with the closest, Touch by Angel’s Cafe is a four minute drive from school that can get students back even if they order online. This Asian-American-owned local business serves Korean Bingsu shaved ice, Taiyaki fish pastries, and tasty coffee drinks as well. They’re a great budget lunch option and customers can expect to spend around or less than ten dollars for their unique menu.
The next hot spot to check out is a five minute drive to Lucy’s Coffee on 1279 Laurel Ln. They’re a great place to grab delicious avocado toast, scones, and matcha lattes! Lucy’s Coffee has one of the most affordable yet delicious cafe menus for high school students looking for a close lunch place. Even better, students can order in person, quickly pick up their food, and still make it back to SLOHS’ parking spot just in time.
“Lucy’s Coffee is a very nice place to go get drinks and food, they have a beautiful ambiance in the cafe. I really enjoy going there,” said junior Logan Laxamana.
Another personal favorite is Broad street’s J&L Hawaiian BBQ, a five minute drive from SLOHS. This local Asian-owned business opened up just this year, yet they’re prices are astonishingly good for high schoolers wanting a fulfilling meal for lunch! For example, they sell two spam musubis for just five dollars and their beef or katsu chicken bowls go for around ten to fifteen dollars. By ordering online, students can arrive back to the parking lot with some mouth-watering Hawaiian food.
“It’s good food that’s close to school and reliable. [It] always tastes good,” said junior Matthew Mansila.
These options are optimal for San Luis Obispo High students looking to grab an appetizing lunch and return to campus just in time for fourth period, all the while allowing them students to support awesome local business!
So, Tigers make sure to always be back on campus just in time for the next period!
