The California Mid-State Fair has been a highlight of summer for San Luis Obispo High School students for years. Whether this be the carnival part of the fair or the concerts, many SLOHS students attend the fair. This year, there’s a total of nine concerts at the fair starting on July 20, ending on July 31.
SLOHS students have been looking forward to some of these concerts since the list was made public. While some students may not have gotten tickets yet, they are still excited for the upcoming events.
“I’m looking forward to seeing Old Dominion on July 22, especially because it being the last few months I’m in SLO before college and get to hangout with everyone for one of the last times. My friends and I love going to concerts and have been to a lot recently in Avila but are super excited for the fair this year,” said 2022 SLOHS graduate Paige Larson.
All concerts, regardless of date, are set to play at 7:30 p.m. throughout the week of the fair. While some students are buying tickets ahead of time, many are purchasing tickets at later times.
“I haven’t been planning on going to any specific concerts at the fair, but I might get roped into going. If I were to go, which I most likely will, I would probably see Dan and Shay. But, I’m not planning ahead to buy tickets, I’ll just go with the flow,” said 2022 SLOHS graduate Etienne Brennan.
Concerts at the California Mid-State Fair are some of the most looked forward to concerts of the summer for SLOHS students. Although the concerts are a big part of the fair, there are many other exciting activities to look forward to.
The California Mid-State Fair has the artist list posted on their website, so if you’re looking for some fun summer concerts next week, make sure to take a look!
