Graduation for San Luis Obispo High School’s class of 2022 is a few weeks away and the recent lift on many COVID regulations has allowed events that were previously canceled to continue once again. Whether it be the return of Slochella, senior breakfast, in-person senior showcase, prom, or graduation, there is alot to add to the calendar. Expressions set out to interview SLOHS seniors and staff about what event they are most looking forward to during their last month of school.
Expressions: What senior event are you most excited for before graduation?
Senior Makenna Siebenlist: I am super excited for Slochella because we haven’t had it for all the other years I’ve been here!
Senior Sam Sunata: Well first of all I’d like to say I’m super excited for slochella!! It’s been a really long time since SLOHS has been able to set one up, so I’m glad I’ll be here for one before I leave (I’m also a music nerd). I’m also excited for the senior breakfast mainly because I just love breakfast food. I have no idea what to expect for prom, I imagine it’s going to be great and very memorable and everyone’s able to make the most out of it!!
History teacher and ASB Advisor Jim Johnson: I am excited about two things right now. I think prom is going to be super fun. It is a new challenge for me, personally, because I have to make sure that prom goes well, and I think the downtown prom [at the Fremont Theater] sounds super fun. The other thing is that I love the senior breakfast, and I’m making pancakes. Now, I love making pancakes, so I think the senior breakfast is going to be great.
There is a lot to look forward to as graduation approaches for the class of 2022. Seniors, make sure to take in these last few moments and thank the ASB class for their hard work in these last months.
