Every October, baseball fans across the country tune in to the World Series. This year Expressions took a dive into San Luis Obispo High School student opinions on this year’s World Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers. Some are excited to root for their favorite team, while others admit they don’t know too much about baseball but still enjoy the hype of the game.
“I’m not the biggest baseball fan, but it feels like a big moment, kind of like the Super Bowl for baseball,” said junior Jake Giordano.
Students are already making predictions about who’s going to take home the trophy. While some students are loyal fans, others are just picking based on who they think has the best shot.
“I’m a Giants fan and I despise the Dodgers so I’m rooting for the Blue Jays most definitely,” said senior Joe Isaman.
Teachers are also joining the argument and sharing their opinions.
“Dodgers will win by far because they have a powerful offense and their pitchers are starting to play well,” said Biology teacher Danny Prodoehl.
However, not everyone agrees. Some students at SLOHS believe that the Blue Jays have the upper hand.
“The Blue Jays Pitching Staff is lethal,as long as they can take care of Ohtani, they will win,” said senior Joe Isaman.
All in all whether it being a lifelong fan, or having love for the sport, or just the excitement of a championship being played, SLOHS students and staff are ready to see how this year’s World Series will unravel.
Game three of the tied series is on tonight, check it out, Tigers!
