Vince Staples is back, and Season Two of his hit show is already causing a stir at San Luis Obispo High School. With the rapper’s signature poker faced delivery, hilarious jokes, and west coast vibe, it is the ideal show to watch.
“He’s a funny guy on twitter and in other appearances but his sound as a rapper is really unique,” said junior Jackson Sullivan.
“The Vince Staples Show” is a 2024 Netflix series created and starred by rapper Vince Staples, taking place in his hometown Long Beach, California. This comedic series shows a personal insight on Staples’ unexpected and random life of a celebrity.
Although some SLOHS students admire Staples for his comedic personality, many prefer him for his rap career.
“Vince Staples is a better rapper, that’s where he pours his efforts. He has an incredible three album run with his self-titled albums, ‘Ramona Park Broke My Heart’ and ‘Dark Times’. Not to mention, he’s been in the rap game a long time and a lot of his stuff from early mixtape days until now is great,” said sophomore Jaco Paul.
Although music remains the foundation of his career, his ability to balance two creative worlds highlights his versatility as an artist. The audience can connect to him both through his lyrics and his humor on screen.
“This show doesn’t just make you laugh, it actually feels real and it is entertaining, but also relatable,” said junior Evan Davis.
The Vince Staples show goes beyond comedy and connects with the viewers by mixing relatable humor and honesty. The show stands out compared to any other sitcoms and gives an audience a reason to come back for Season Two.
Whether you’re a fan of his music or just love a comedic show, this series has something for everyone. Don’t miss out and tune into Season Two, coming November 6, 2025.
