The real question is should students take a summer class or enjoy their summer? Graphic courtesy to sophomore Kandon Sullivan.
Summer school is a popular thing that students attend over summer to get classes over worth before the school year starts, but is taking summer school really worth it?
SLOHS students take a range of classes over the summer whether this be at SLOHS, Cuesta College, and Allan Hancock College. Most students choose to take these classes, but why?
“I’m taking history over the summer, and I’m nervous, but excited to get it over with,” said sophomore Addy Hopple.
Summer classes are super beneficial to students because first, you get your class over with. Second, you get an extra elective the following year.
“I want to get ahead for the upcoming school year and to get some of world history done over the summer is nice,” said sophomore Taya Carpuz-Carr.
Taking a summer class at Cuesta or Allan Hancock are super beneficial because you don’t have to go through the worries of coming to SLOHS everyday and can enjoy your summer at home, while taking a class.
“I feel like it gives you a head start on the year, it frees up my schedule more so I could have more electives,” said sophomore Emma Macoviak.
Taking summer classes are overall super beneficial, and Expressions recommends all SLOHS to try it.
Well, next summer.
