San Luis Obispo High School Varsity Football has a big game tonight at Holt Field at seven p.m. We should all be there.
Coming into the last league game with a record of 7-1, the Tigers face Atascadero High School (5-4) for the overall League title.
ASB is calling for a Minions theme as well. It’s going to be a great way to spend a Friday night after a Friday off of school.
“We feel that if we play up to our abilities, we are giving ourselves a chance to win,” said Head Coach and Physical Education teacher Patrick Johnson.
Atascadero has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 217.2 rushing yards per game. However, it’s not like San Luis Obispo struggles in that department as they’ve been averaging 224.9. It’s looking like Friday’s match might be a great battle.
SLOHS varsity quarterback Jace Gomes has been on a tear this season. With his leadership, his teammates feel pretty solid about tonight’s game.
“Collectively as a team we have fought through adversity these past nine games. With our talent and speed, the only team that can beat us is ourselves. A-town is coming to our place this Friday and to beat this team it will take nothing more than defaulting to our training. Nonetheless, we are preparing for championship football because we are a championship team,” said Varsity player Britton Rethmeier.
Atascadero barely beat SLOHS when the teams last played in September of 2023, winning 21-20.
If you cannot make it to the game, The Tiger News Network will be airing the game live. Go to www.youtube.com/user/TNNSLOHS . Live will be better.
Let’s show our support.
