San Luis Obispo High School’s Fashion Club and Environmental Club are hosting the first annual clothing swap on January 18 in the theater. Donations are being accepted until January 16 in the ASB room, Leonne Avery’s fashion classroom, and by the speakers at lunch. A donation grants an admission ticket, or tickets can be purchased for $2.
“You can donate clothes, it doesn’t matter how many, and that will be your entry ticket. You can take as many clothes as you like, and we’re doing this as a way to stay sustainable, and so people can afford to get new clothes. You can bring one thing and have access to everything,” said sophomore and fashion club leader Leila Tabuenca.
The club aims to make clothing more accessible and promote sustainable fashion options.
“The swap will create opportunities to experiment with different styles without having to pay the money. There is still time to donate until January 16!” said Tabuenca.
