Saturday SLOHS Sports Update: Winter is Here!

BOYS AND GIRLS SOCCER
The SLOHS Girls Varsity team has a record of 1-1 so far. The team won 2-1 against Templeton on November 29. Senior Ashley Brewer and Sophomore Kalaya Olivera both scored. They play Bakersfield on December 1 (score pending) and Centennial today! -Junior Addi Woods

The Boys Soccer team’s record is 1-1. Last night’s game ended in a 2-7 loss against San Marcos, with the highlight of the game being goals by juniors Ezra Brooks and Angel Gomez. The next game will be against Atascadero on December 5. -Freshman Porter Hales

WRESTLING

The Wrestling Teams are already training hard for the winter season! Over Thanksgiving break the first year wrestlers traveled to a novice tournament in Santa Maria for their first ever competition where they fought hard and conquered. The first official competition for Varsity Girls and Boys Wrestling is next Saturday, December 9 at East Bakersfield High School. Make sure to show your support for these fierce athletes even if unable to make it to the away game, Tigers! -Sophomore Vyolet Burrus

BOYS AND GIRLS BASKETBALL

Girls Basketball is 3-2. On Thursday, Nov 30, 2023, the San Luis Obispo Varsity Girls Basketball team lost their San Luis Obispo Holiday Tournament game against Clovis East High School by a score of 46-59. They have a tournament game tomorrow at home against Independence at 1:30 p.m.

Boys Basketball are 2-1. On Friday the San Luis Obispo Varsity Boys Basketball team won their Santa Cruz Dad’s Club Tournament game against Scotts Valley High School by a score of 72-51. –Maxpreps.com
