At San Luis Obispo High School, hydration is taken as a suggestion. Many people carry around water bottles and drink from them but with the water from the school water fountain being bad, not many like to refill their water bottles.
75 percent of Americans are dehydrated, and this condition causes problems, especially for students.
“I drink water from my water bottle and would say I stay hydrated, the school water is not good though so I do not like to refill,” said sophomore Conor Mason.
Most teachers at SLOHS allow students to have water in class. Whether it is on the table or on the floor. Meaning if students want they could have water at all times.
At the same time it is easy to forget your water bottle, and with the water fountain not tasting good many students end up dehydrated.
At the end of the day it is up to the SLOHS student if they drink enough water. Although especially for athletes who have to drink more water, it would be nice to have better refill options. Stay hydrated out there Tigers!
