As businesses close and the stock market falters, telecommunications app Zoom has taken off and taken over. Zoom has become the near ubiquitous tool for everything from online school to chatting with friends, and one might wonder how it outpaced more famous rivals like Skype and Facetime.

Was it Zoom’s simple and intuitive interface?

Or their easy scheduling capability and business tools?

No. The only reason Zoom is the top app and one of the fastest growing stocks is it lets you set ‘Virtual Backgrounds.’ These backgrounds work like Hollywood green screens, allowing you to project any image behind you with the tap of a button. It’s the perfect way to hide the complete mess your room has become, and it’s a great way to confuse your older teachers.

Here are some of the most useful Zoom backgrounds, sourced from across the internet. To install on Zoom, click the little arrow next to the camera button and enter the Virtual Background settings, then click the plus to add a photo.

Imagine our nation had a competent coronavirus response by putting yourself right in the Oval Office!

Pretend like you’re still in school, and this time make sure to appreciate how nice it is to have a physical campus with all your friends around you!

Have newspaper adviser and certified cool kid Scott Nairne stare your friends down while he threateningly holds a rolled up paper! Cross your arms and wear sunglasses for added effect.

That one meme. Be her!

The Office. Because obviously.

Be Queen! Add your own mysterious floating head to this iconic photo.

Put your head where the baby’s is and BECOME THE SUN.
