With summer coming to a halting stop, many students are thinking about school. San Luis Obispo High School will hopefully have an improved campus because no one wants to go back to campus as chaotic as it was in the 2018-2019 school year.
Incoming freshmen and anyone returning to SLOHS knows that the school is still under major construction. Now is when things are going to be getting really confusing with classrooms being moved around and entrances being opened and closed. High school is stressful enough by itself without having to deal with construction and new facilities(math building, office, theater, pool) and classrooms being added and moved to new locations, it will be very to get confused
“It’s going to be an interesting star, after a while, I will be able to get a hang of it,” said sophomore Abby Stefani.
While the pool is expected to be done next year it won’t be until January 2020, and the new office, is expected to be done by the time we get back to school, which is great because that will give anyone on campus another path to get to our classes. That’s just the start of it too, when they start changing more things it will become very chaotic and confusing.
“I feel like I’m going into freshman year again with not knowing where any classes are going to be. Now everyone will be finding their way around campus, and no one can help the incoming freshmen with where to go because we don’t know either,” said sophomore Libby Massman.
Measure D is going to be useful for this school but for the time being, it makes things way harder than it needs to be, especially with many projects happening at once. Once school starts up progress will slow down a lot and it sucks because construction is expected to be finished in six years, so we will have to deal with construction and not even be able to enjoy it. It’s honestly because people want to enjoy high school as much as possible without worrying about dealing with construction, and we have to bare with all the construction and don’t even get to enjoy a finished campus.
