Sophomore Expressions reporter Emma Jane Haas created the first post with #humansofslohs, starting a new method of reporting for the San Luis Obispo High School’s journalism program. Based on the popular Facebook and Instagram page “Humans Of New York”, which is now also available in print, the new hashtag series on the SLOHS Expressions Instagram account @slohs_expressions is typically a portrait with an interesting quote by the person in the photo.
“I just thought it was an interesting idea,” said Haas. “I like meeting new people and it fascinates me how many people we over look every day.” In an attempt to expand the boundaries of news reporting, the staff will be posting once a day to the Expressions Instagram page.
