Starting a new sport is a challenge for anyone at San Luis Obispo High School, but especially if you come from another country with a different culture, language, and mannerisms.
For senior Italian exchange student Miranda Savini, overcoming these challenges was an enjoyable experience. Expressions interviewed her on her experience with the Track and Field team.
Expressions: Have you been on any sports teams before the SLOHS Track and Field team?
Senior Miranda Savini: I played volleyball, tennis, and swam.
Expressions: What events did you participate in?
Savini: I did shotput and discus.
Expressions: What do you like better between them?
Savini: Discus, hands down.
Expressions: How many meets did you attend?
Savini: I went to three meets. One at Atascadero High School, then Paso Robles High School and Arroyo Grande High School.
Expressions: How would you describe your experience with the team?
Savini: It was very interesting because I had never thrown before, and I met a lot of new people. The coach was very nice and passionate about the sport.
Expressions: What’s your best memory about playing on this year’s team?
Savini: I loved doing the pasta feed. Especially because the pasta was good, and I know good
