Students at San Luis Obispo High School enjoy spending their summers engaging in activities with friends, such as going to the beach, exploring downtown, and watching new movies together. The summer season is particularly busy for the release of new movies. Movies like “Superman”, “Jurassic World: rebirth”, “Smurfs”, “I Know What You Did Last Summer (reboot)”, “Fantastic Four: The First Steps”, and much more.
Going to the movies with friends in a big group is a great way to spend a summer day. Watching newly released films together creates excitement. Enjoying some sweets while sharing laughs and experiences makes it even better. It’s a fun way to relax and have a good time together.
“I really like going to the movie theater downtown with my friends, I get to hang out with them, get candy, and relax for like an hour and a half watching a movie that I want to see. I have been waiting for the “Happy Gilmore 2” movie to come out, so I’m excited to see that,” said sophomore Georgia Milner.
“Happy Gilmore 2” hits theaters on July 25, and it’s the perfect comedy to watch with friends! Happy Gilmore, played by Adam Sandler, navigates the ups and downs of his golf career after winning the World Championship. With all the laughs viewers love from the original, this sequel is a great way to spend a day with friends at the movies.
While many people love going to the movies and sitting down and eat a box of popcorn while enjoying a movie. Not everyone is a fan of purchasing a ticket to see a movie; some wait till the movie comes out on streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Prime Video, and more.
“ I usually wait to see a movie when it comes out on Netflix and Hulu. I feel like it’s easier to watch the movie from your house, and like instead of having to purchase tickets to watch it at the theatre, but i do enjoy hanging out with my friends at the movie theatre downtown, so I like both either way, one usually just seems like a better option,” said senior Caden Kirschner.
Whether you’re waiting for the movie to be released on a streaming service or planning to catch it in theaters, there’s bound to be plenty of excitement surrounding the films debuting this summer, particularly in July.
“I’m excited for the reboot of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” to come out I think thats a good movie to see with friends and I also really like the cast, so yeah i’m probably going tp be waiting fot that come out and then go see with a group of friends,” said sophmore Kili Gorton.
“I Know What You Did Last Summer” is brimming with suspense and promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. This exciting reboot features a talented cast, including Madelyn Cline, Lola Tung, and Nicholas Alexander Chavez. It’s shaping up to be a thrilling movie experience, so don’t miss it this July!
SLOHS students have a fun summer ahead, filled with activities and exciting movie releases.
