At San Luis Obispo High School many people often rush to graduate and make it through their senior year. Well others are scared for the future, however many people don’t know how to have a good senior year.
“I wanted to make sure I had a good balance between easy and hard classes to leave enough room to have a well rounded senior year,” said 2025 alumni Leila Johnson.
Personally I had the idea to have multiple advanced placement classes while having a job, two sports, and a cuesta college physics class. This I don’t fully recommend.
“Going into my senior year I’m excited for all of the senior activities but stressed for college applications,” said senior Fiori Turner.
Although I did have some fulfilling experiences, I wish I had more time to sleep. Often I would choose homework, climbing, or hanging out with friends over getting more than five hours.
I would recommend taking classes you are interested in, ones that you can stay focused on. Take advantage of getting a first period off and take an easy cuesta class, trust!
“I wish I took a class at cuesta. I would have loved to have more flexibility in the mornings and learn something new along with getting credits and helping my college GPA,” said senior Kimberly Budinger.
Overall tigers take every opportunity you can your senior year. At the same time keep it balanced and start college applications early!
