Here at San Luis Obispo High School we have two amazing librarians. Expressions decided to interview one of them so you can get to know them a little better!
Expressions: How long have you been a librarian?
SLOHS Librarian Eliza Escareno: About two years!
Expressions: Do you have any new books to recommend?
Escareno: Yes! “The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store” is on our shelf for Black History Month recommendations and I absolutely loved it. It’s such a beautifully written story with a rich cast of characters.
Expressions: What is your favorite part of your job?
Escareno: I really enjoy getting to know students and talking about books. I also have so much fun working with Ms. Dowler!
Expressions: Does the library host special events?
Escareno: Yes, the library [hosted] a Study with Friends night on Tuesday, February 25 from four to eight p.m.
Expressions: How can students help the library?
Escareno: Don’t forget to return your books when they are due, and if you need more time to finish a book, we’d be happy to renew it. Just stop by and we can do that for you. We love when students visit the library and check out books!
Our library is a great resource for both students and staff and a very warm and welcoming environment! We highly recommend you check it out.
