This winter season is a big one for the San Luis Obispo High Schools ski and snowboard club. This club has been around the school for many years but this one is definitely going to be one to remember!
Ski and snowboard club have a wide range of talent and skill. Some members have never seen the snow before and others are highly experienced like senior Ben Davidson, who has been skiing for over thirteen years. Davidson’s favorite part of the club is that it is fun and chill.
“It’s calm, not very strict,” said senior Ben Davidson.
With members that have been coming back for the past four years, there is a very special bond that these members create from enjoying a mutual passion together.
The club plans on heading up to the snow about six or seven times according to Davidson and he could not be more happier about it! Especially throughout break, these members really cherish these experiences whose memories never fade away. New member, freshman Liberty Davis says she is most excited about creating new friends.
“I’m most excited about bonding with other snowboarders,” said Davis.
Ski club is a great way to make new friends, strengthen bonds, have fun, and create new memories.
The trips up to the mountain are loads of fun for every grade and every level of expertise.
“Such an action packed day where you are on an adventure for fourteen hours straight with really cool people,” said senior Kai Monge.
Even though the trips are fourteen hours long with lengthy drives, every moment is super exciting.
“Time flies when you’re having fun!” said Davidson.
This club has been going on for many years at SLOHS with tons of students having the time of their lives and creating bonds that last a lifetime.
“I’ve bonded with so many people who I now talk to on a day to day basis because of the ski club,” said Monge.
Economics teacher Greg Ross is the new adviser for the ski and snowboarding club so new students that want to join, contact him!
