San Luis Obispo High School students have been excited about this year’s Shabang Music Festival, but is anyone actually going?
The Shabang Music Festival is celebrating its ten-year anniversary from May 3 to 4. This all-age festival will be at the Dairy Creek Golf Course and full of music, comedy, and great food.
“Being at live music is fun because you get the full experience of the songs,” said freshman Tommy Leichtfuss.
The festival began ten years ago when a group of Cal Poly students threw a party with live music for twenty of their friends. They called it “The Last Shabang.”
“I don’t know any music to ‘shabang’ but it feels like a bomb or a bang,” said sophomore Kinan Ramadan.
What started as a twenty-person get-together is now full of ten thousand people across various stages.
The only downside to the festival is the price.
“I don’t think anyone would pay $150 to go see live music of bands they don’t know. That’s way overpriced,” said sophomore Kai Priola.
The Shabang Music Festival will be going down on Friday, so if you have $150 sitting in your bank account, this festival is definitely for you.
