Many students at San Luis Obispo High School have read the “Percy Jackson” series written by Rick Riordan.

 “‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians and the Battle of the Labyrinth’ offers new opportunities to learn more mythology with the Labyrinth of the Minotaur and the introduction of characters such as Briares, Kampe, Daedalus, and Pan, while still maintaining the series’s story arc keeping fans hooked with continues foreshadowing for the series finale,” said sophomore Ian McKay.

  “Percy Jackson and The Olympians The Battle of Labyrinth” is the fourth book in the first series of Percy Jackson books that Rick Riordan has published. Percy Jackson follows the teen hero Percy Jackson son of Poseidon and his group of demigod friends. Demigods or ‘Half Bloods’ are children of the Greek Gods and Goddesses of Olympus and a mortal.

  In the fourth book of the series, our heroes Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase [Daughter of Athena], Grover Underwood [Satyr and Protector], and Tyson [Cyclops son of Poseidon] head into the Labyrinth after finding out that one of the antagonists Luke Castellan [Son of Hermes] could have a way to attack Percy’s friends’ ‘headquarters’ Camp Half-Blood where all Greek Demigods go to be safe.

  “The books have changed my life, I’ve been reading since… I don’t even know when. They have inspired me to be more creative and have a different perspective on things that are going on in my life. They make me happy,” said sophomore Kat van Lingen.

  For some people these books are huge parts of their childhoods in the same vane as the “Harry Potter” series or “Lord of the Rings”. So go find a Percy Jackson book in either your local library or a bookstore now.
