Students at San Luis Obispo often spend their Thursday nights at Farmer’s Market.

Farmer’s Market occurs on Higuera Street in downtown San Luis Obispo.  It begins at 6:00 PM on Thursday and ends at 9:00 PM.

“After school, especially on a Thursday I have nothing to do, so I go,” said junior Clay Bitler.    Students attend in order to cure boredom after school.

Many families feel as though the school does not raise enough awareness for how important it is to support local businesses.

When asked how to promote these family businesses, senior Boaz Victor said “Announcements in WEB articles or TNN would be extremely helpful, especially TNN because students are forced to watch it.”

Many students do not attend Farmer’s Market either because of an earlier occupation or by choice.

“I personally do not go because I have baseball practice.  Even if I didn’t have baseball practice I still wouldn’t go because it turned ghetto,” said junior Alek Naran.

A wide variety of opinions have come to be formed about the market over the years.

“I haven’t attended in several years, however, I do have fond memories of the market in the past,” said sophomore Charlotte Dierks.

Farmer’s Market in downtown SLO has played a role in each individual’s lives at SLOHS whether large or small.

When reflecting on the market it is important to remember the refuge and past tie it has provided students.
