Amidst the diversity of San Luis Obispo High School, there are some incredibly talented people, including a vast majority of musicians and artists. One of these artists is sophomore Alexis Palmaymesa. She is a digital artist who enjoys drawing between the margins of cartoons and realism. Expressions sat down with them to discuss some of their art and work.
Expressions: When did you first start creating digital art?
Sophomore Alexis Palmaymesa: About Four to five years ago when I first downloaded IBIS paint.
Expressions: How many art pieces have you made?
Palmaymesa: I don’t keep track! I have a whole Instagram account!
Expressions: Do you have any advice for aspiring artists?
Palmaymesa: Don’t force yourself to draw when you have art burnout!
Expressions: Is there any piece of work you are most proud of?
Palmaymesa: Yes! (cover photo) because of the shading and the contrast.
Expressions: Is there any specific style you prefer?
Palmaymesa: I usually draw characters between cartoonist and realistic!
