Boys Basketball Clutches up against Mission

Boys Basketball Clutches up against Mission

Last night, the San Luis Obispo boys varsity basketball team destroyed Mission Prep 65-38. Boys basketball will now end the season against Mission Prep 1-1 continuing the ongoing crosstown rivalry.

The entire game, the Tigers stayed ahead not once losing momentum to Mission unlike last game when Mission beat SLOHS 54-44. The entire team seemed to bond together and function better with the SLOHS athletics director and new head coach Jeff Brandow.

“The game plan was to move the ball and play hard, and that is exactly what we did. It was a great team effort from everyone and it showed on the scoreboard. I couldn’t be more proud of everyone,” said varsity player Carson Leedom.

The first half started at slow with both teams neck to neck battling until SLOHS was able to maintain a lead over Mission Prep of ten points in the first half, and their luck wouldn’t run short. In the start of the second half SLOHS dominated Mission Prep by scoring thirty points while mission only scored 18 points.

“I think it was the best we played all year. We played as a team and it was a great way for us seniors to beat Mission Prep,” said varsity player Sam Ogden.

The Tigers last regular season game will be at home against Templeton on February 13.

Let’s all come out for senior night and watch Boys Basketball destroy the Eagles as they gear up for CIF Playoffs.
