Popular Hiking Trails in SLO

Popular+Hiking+Trails+in+SLO

School is back in session, but that does not mean summer activities need to end!  Living in San Luis Obispo, we are surrounded by so many outdoor activities. These activities range from kayaking at the beach, surfing, mountain biking, and so much more. One of my favorite outdoor activities is hiking. Being located in between a series of mountains, many different hiking trails are available. There are trails for everyone, varying in difficulty and distance.

“Bishop’s Peak is definitely one of my favorite hikes. I love doing it with my friends and it’s a great way to go out and enjoy nature,” said senior Leanna Vendegna.

Some of my favorite hikes consist of Ontario Ridge, Bishop’s Peak, and Poly Canyon. Bishop’s Peak has an awesome view of the city of SLO, while Ontario Ridge overlooks Avila and Shell Beach. Even though summer is over, you can still relive summer memories by trying one of these hikes with your friends, family, and pets! It is an awesome way to enjoy nature and also get a great workout.
