With Thanksgiving behind San Luis Obispo High School students, the holiday season has begun. It’s time for the students at SLOHS to break out their warm sweaters and head to the Cambria Christmas Market and Light Show. This annual event began the day after Thanksgiving and goes until December 23. With over two million lights and dozens of different displays, it is the perfect holiday destination for everyone.
“I love the Cambria Lights and I’m looking forward to going this year, especially the Christmas Market that they have,” said senior Carly Crow.
Before heading into the light show itself, make sure to check out the Christmas Market. With local vendors selling everything from lavender neck warmers to small succulents, it is definitely worth walking through before heading into the main event.
“My favorite part is definitely the tunnel you walk through with all the lights around you,” said junior Mitchell Neuman.
Beginning with the iconic light arch, make sure to snap a few pictures for that classic Instagram post. There is a live band playing near the entrance to sit and listen to while enjoying a warm hot cocoa.
While those who have been before will recognize a lot of the setups, it always has a new twist or a different prop to be amazed by.
“I went for the first time last weekend. It was really pretty and a lot larger than I expected. It was really cool how they incorporated lots of different displays,” said senior Claire Beauchamp.
The Cambria Lights is definitely a perfect place to visit for a holiday outing. So, whether it be with friends, family, or a significant other, it is the perfect activity to get you into the holiday spirit.
