High-end sushi restaurant, Arigato, opened up on Marsh Street on May 1. Located in the building that was once the home of Sumo Sushi, the upscale restaurant calls their style of food as “sushi fusion”.
The chef, who moved here from working at the Grand Hyatt in Manhattan, New York and has been working with sushi since 1995, uses French and Italian influences on his menu. The sushi restaurant prides itself on food and menu presentation. The chef only uses fresh fish from all around the world, including Spanish tuna, the most expensive tuna in the world.
“I went there for lunch and loved the entire atmosphere. Great overall experience and some of the stickiest rice I’ve had,” said San Luis Obispo High School Graduate Genevieve Basich-Pease.
Arigato is a nice and convenient place for students and families because of the large parking lot and efficient service. It is open seven days a week and ranges from $18-$80 entrees.
