Hidden Gems of San Luis Obispo

Hidden+Gems+of+San+Luis+Obispo

San Luis Obispo is rich with beautiful places to relax and spend some time alone or with friends. From beaches to parks, SLO has a variety of spots to visit during the day, when the sun is setting and at night time.

“I like to go to Montaña De Oro with my friends. There’s a rock you can climb right on the beach; the view of the ocean up there is sick,” said junior Justin Berlin.

Another cool spot is on the top of Prefumo Canyon. It’s a pretty isolated place, surrounded only by hills and cows. If you are looking for a pretty sunset, you’ll be able to see the sun setting right next to the Morro Bay rock.

If you want to explore SLO at night, “the top of the grade is a great place to visit and drive up. There are many hidden spots to drive and do whatever pleases you,” said sophomore Ernesto Roide.

If you are with a group of friends, then Cuesta Park is the right option for you.

“I like to chill there. If you go all the way down at the end of the park, there’s a very cool spot under a tree that faces the creek,” said junior Jesus Ramirez.

Cuesta Park also offers a variety of trails to follow, a rebuilt playground and a beach volleyball court.

Whether you are looking for an adventure or a moment to yourself, San Luis Obispo has many great options.
