Should We Eat Fast Food?

Should We Eat Fast Food?

One of the major problems in America is obesity. This problem has been developed in the United States because of the popularity of fast food. At San Luis Obispo High School, most students prefer to eat fast food during lunch due to the lack of time. But a lot of Americans do not understand how bad it is consuming junk foods, they just see that as good and tasty foods.

“I love American food, even if it’s not the highest quality, it tastes so good,” said junior Nate Higgins.

If we eat fast food sometimes, nothing will happen to our bodies, but at SLOHS there are only 35 minutes for lunch break, so a large amount of students uses this fact as an excuse to eat that every day.

“Fortunately, SLO doesn’t have a lot of fast foods. I don’t eat fast foods that often because my parents never let me eat that,” said junior Camryn Goodwin.

Expressions asked foreign exchange students what they think about this kind of food.

“I think it is tasty, but usually fast food causes obesity, and it is one of the major problems in America. They find the excuse to eat junk food because it’s cheap but it’s not good,” said senior Marko Saijic, an exchange student from Serbia who could see for the first time what the problem of obesity is.

If we look at some statistics, the number of people who are considered obese is terrifying. We have to fight against this problem, possibly with campaigns at school where we can give an idea to SLOHS students of how big this issue is, literally.
